Prevention Education - Youth 4 Truth (peer team)

The primary goal of the Prevention Education arm of the ministry is to educate teens and adults on the many benefits of abstinence until marriage and the many damaging consequences of sex before marriage. To best deliver the information necessary to communicate the whole truth about sex before marriage, The Life Center has created a number of educational and character reinforcing programs that speak to the audience on their level. Thanks to the generous donations of TLC supporters, all of the programs are made available to schools, churches and community groups throughout West Texas at NO COST.

Youth 4 Truth Peer Team Presentation:
Is a series of dramatic skits, humor, music and testimonials by high school and college age youth that models right choices on stage and in their real lives. This presentation is designed as a follow-up to the TASk Program to reinforce key points of the TASk components in a peer-to-peer dynamic for grades 7-12.

Synopsis:
Youth 4 Truth Peer Team Presentations are a series of dramatic skits, humor, music and testimonials by high school and college age youth that model right choices on stage and in their real lives. This presentation is designed as a follow-up to the TASk (Teens Are Saying kNOw) Abstinence Program to reinforce key points of the TASk components in a peer-to-peer dynamic.

Designed specifically for grades 7-12, the Y4T Presentation is easily adapted to meet a wide range of venues; from large general assemblies to smaller groups in gyms or cafeterias.

The Youth 4 Truth cast members also participate in a mentoring program that includes advanced training for abstinence and sexual health issues, referral training for friends in crisis and daily peer reinforcement for positive choices.

We plan to develop three teams this year that will enable us to reach three schools per month while only requiring members to miss one day of school per month to participate. A majority of the training and rehearsals will be done during the summer months with group rehearsals scheduled one night every other week during the school year.

Y4T is partially funded by United Way of Midland. Additional financial and material support is needed to equip the team. Contact Jenifer Hart to support the Y4T Peer Team with your financial gifts or to learn more about the work of The Life Center in Midland.
